Odds and Ends of February

Super Bowl cupcakes!!!
They were yummy but left your mouth or teeth looking a little green or blue!

Especially if you eat a cupcake the way Thor did!! Side note, he actually ate this cupcake making it the first cupcake or cake he has ever eaten!!

One rainy afternoon while picking Grace up from school Eva and Thor thought it would be fun to jump in the puddles.  At one point Eva was standing next to a puddle and Thor ran and jumped into it, soaking his sister in the process.  She was not very happy or amused with it as he ruined her beautiful clothes! Hehe :)

This shirt seems to describe Thor perfectly for the last few months! Hehe ;)

Every month Grace has a themed day at school, such as crazy hair day, mustache day, wear your pants on your head, etc.  In February it was twin day!

Vancouver

In February, we took a trip up to Vancouver, BC for the weekend, we left on a Friday and came back on Sunday. Not an overly long trip but long enough for us to do a few fun things.

The first night the kids were just tired of sitting in a car and hungry so we didn't go very far or stray to far from a place to eat than one they were friendly with.  Plus as soon as Grace and Eva saw Red Robin that is all they wanted or could ask for.

Milk is a huge part of Eva and Thor's diet so on the way back to the hotel we stopped to purchase some.  However, we never really thought about what Eva would drink her milk in until we got back to the hotel and she was wanting a glass.  All we could find were the normal water glasses hotels have in the bathroom and this small wine glass.  We decided to go fancy, we were on vacation after all, so she got to drink her milk from a wine glass all weekend! :)

Our first full day there we headed over to Stanley park were we spent a good part of the day.

There is an aquarium in the park so we headed over there first and had a blast!

After that we stopped by to see the Totem Poles and just the general running and playing in the park!

The rest of our first day was spent back at the hotel swimming and of course going out for dinner!

The second day, and our last, we headed over to the Capilano Suspension Bridge!

Other than the really long suspension bridge there was also a tree top course to go on and just some general "hiking" or walking through the woods.

We all had a blast there!  The girls did great with all the heights of the bridges.  I'm pretty sure Grace had no fear at all, Eva was more cautious on the long bridge but was great in the treetop course and Thor well we played it safe with him and kept him on Mark's back the whole time! :)  I'm sure if he got down he would have been running all over the place and trying to climb on everything!! Hehe

Valentines Day

This year Valentines Day was a little different than it normally is but only because it was on the weekend.  Usually the girls and I get everything ready and set up while Mark is at work but this year he was home all day!!  Which I thought was better than any of the others.

We started the day off normal and then in the afternoon we had a family friendly game of bowling on the Wii.  Thor really got into the game.

After the bowling game we went on a scavenger hunt around the house that had the kids putting a puzzle together, dancing, and just having good general teamwork to try and figure out the clues.

The scavenger hunt was followed by coloring and some crushed strawberry flavored ice while Mark and I got dinner ready.

As is tradition we had a nice candle light dinner with the kids followed by ice cream for dessert!  One of the favorite parts of dinner, for the kids, is the end when they get to blow out the candles.  However, Thor wanted to blow the candles out over and over and over! :)

Randomness of January

After a busy month in December we had a more quiet month in January.  We kept it low key and just hung out at home.  With a slower month not as many pictures were taken.  Below are a few that we captured along with a couple of videos.

Eva got to go on a date with Mommy to the movies.  I love how she has this huge bucket of popcorn sitting on her small little lap.

Working on our dancing skills.

Thor decided to help make rice krispies treats.

Sharping pencils can be so much fun!

Oregon Coast

Over Christmas break we decided to spend a couple days down at the Oregon Coast.  Probably not the most likely place to go in the middle of winter but we had fun and it was beautiful and just a little chilly the first day.  The second day felt warmer but I'm not sure it was actually that much warmer than the day before.  Regardless of the temps we certainly had nice sunny weather!  We basically spent the whole time on the beach playing in the sand and collecting seashells.  The kids had a blast and of course jumped in the waves regardless of how cold the water was or how cold it was outside.

It was so beautiful that I had a hard time just picking one or two pictures to share so below are several!  The first day we spent at Haystack Rock and if you are a fan of the movie Goonies it may look familiar to you.  It is the rock at the end of the movie when they are finally rescued.

This is my favorite picture....I love the lighting and how it looks like we are the only people on the beach.

On the morning of the second day we went to the little aquarium in town.  It didn't take us long to get through it but the kids enjoyed it.

After we headed back to the beach to play some more.
