NYC

Oh yeah, NYC or as most on the east refer to it The City!! I love NYC!! When we lived there we did not go in all that often but it was there and it was just one of those things that you knew no matter what you could go in and find something to do. It is after all the city that never sleeps! I would have to say aside from family and friends the city would be one of the things that I miss the most. This was the first time that we were able to make it in since we moved away 3 years ago.

This is how Gracie looked on the car ride into the city and on the way home.

We actually drove to Hoboken and took the Path train in.

I had to take a picture of this sign because the first thing Gracie said in the city was lion when she saw this. At this point we had probably been in the city for over 20 minutes!

Hitching a ride on Daddy's shoulders. She seemed to like it much better up there than in her stroller. I would have to imagine it was because she could actually see instead of looking at just legs.

Ice, Ice, Baby

When Mark was just a wee boy they use to go out on the lake behind their house and play. Mainly they ice-skated but they would also sled and shovel the snow to play hockey and such. So we thought it would be a great experience for Grace to do the same thing however, we didn't have skates so we just went out in our boots.
This was also my first time out on the lake. When we lived there we just never went out and most of the time there were usually others out there skating and when the snow came on top of it they would have the snowmobiles out there. So it just never seemed like a good idea at the time.
I should also note that there are quite a few videos in this post. :)

She just wanted to hold Daddy's hand after that but only for a little while then she became brave again.

In this last video when Mark turns around with the camera, the yellow house is his Aunt's house and where we were staying this trip. Also on a side note, that is also the house we lived in when we lived back in Jersey.

Let's Go Devils, Let's Go Devils!!

This was Gracie's first hockey game that she actually remembers. We took her when she was little but she was not really into it. When she saw the ice her eyes got so big and she was extremely excited about everything she saw.

She did really great at the game. She made it through 2 1/2 periods of play. In the picture above she was getting more brave and was seeing just how far she could go.

With all the pictures we were taking of her she wanted to take one too. This is the picture she took of me and since I barely put any pictures of me on here I figured I would put this one up. She is getting much better at aiming the camera and taking pictures.

Snow!!!

One of our biggest highlights of our trip to Jersey was the snow!

The first week there was a light dusting of snow. Grace loved it but we were hoping for some more so we could build a snowman, make a snow angel, and just really play in the snow and boy did we get it!!

The snow storm hit late afternoon and into the night but Gracie could not wait until morning to go out in it!

I'm not really sure what she is doing in this picture but I put it on here cause it is one of my favorites. If you look closely at the snow falling from the sky you can actually see the snowflake pattern!
