Snowcone

Grace had her 1st snow cone over the weekend. She loved it which we knew she would because she loves to go around just eating ice. So we figured there was no way she wouldn't love sugar packed, flavored ice. :)
Yummy strawberry flavored ice!!

Don't you just love the red lips?!? Her tongue was also very red! :)

Ouch

It seems that no matter how much a person child proofs their home, and don't get me wrong we didn't child proof much, your child can still get hurt. I guess what I am saying is that even if we would have put bubble wrap around our entire house, like some thought we should, Grace still would have gotten this injury.

Our own little Harry Potter! ;)
Last week she was eating an apple and decided to put it down on the floor to play with something. After she was done playing, she got up to leave the room forgetting she put her apple on the floor, she tripped over it. As she fell she came right down into the corner of a door frame. So there you have it, what child proof fanatic child proofs door frames. I don't think they even make such a thing or do they. Well if not I think I have an idea here or I could design a better one and make millions off it... :)
This picture was taken well after the injury. She was upset cause we told her after the picture she was going to have to go to bed. As you can see, she wasn't ready for that yet.

About 3 days after the fall. It really never got as bad as I thought it was going to. I was expecting it to turn all yellow and black but it didn't. Thank goodness!

Our Little Helper

Grace is starting to copy everything Mark and I do right down to helping out around the house. She wants to be a part of everything if only I could figure out how to keep her from growing out of that phase. I'm sure there will be a day that I have to repeat myself over and over asking her to help with something around the house and I am sure that complaining will be the answer that I get. So for now we are enjoying watching her be our "Little Helper" and learning how to do new things everyday.

24 weeks

Technically I am now 25 weeks but the picture above is from 24 weeks. Not much has changed in the last month. I have gotten bigger and the baby is moving a lot more than before. My doctor appointment was good and there were no concerns or praises to report of. I was finally able to get into a new endocrinologist this past week. He checked my levels and said everything finally looks good and I don't need to change the amount I'm taking again until after the baby is born. He did switch me over to brand name medicine instead of the generic. He also wants to see me one more time before the baby comes so I will go back in August for that. Praise the Lord that my levels are finally figured out. I have started to notice a difference, I finally have the burst of energy that you are suppose to get during the 2nd trimester. :)

The last couple of weeks with the baby becoming more active we have tried to get Grace to feel her little brother/sister move around but she can't sit still long enough to do such a thing. Maybe in a few more weeks. Although, if you ask Grace where the baby is she can definitely tell you that.

I'm still praying and trying to decide how I want to deliver this baby. A good friend recommended a book for me to read and I'm about half way through it. So far I have found it pretty interesting but I have a lot to read yet. The book is called Ina May's Guide to Childbirth. It talks about childbirth at home and in the hospital and how to have as natural of a childbirth that you can in the hospital. At least that is what I think it is about, this is my understanding just from reading the back cover. I really can not go into too much detail on what it really talks about because like I said I still have a lot to read. After I finish it and decide what I'm going to do I will maybe give you a review of it.

Splash Pad

For some reason my videos are uploading with out any problems but when I go to play them it tells me to try again later. So I'm posting this anyways with the videos in hope that they will work and if not then in a couple days hopefully they will work. In the mean time I will keep trying to figure out what is going on.

Last week we went to a splash pad with the Moms Club. Grace had a blast and we are planning on going back there more this summer on our own. It seems like the earlier you go the less crowded it is which works out great down here since it is so HOT here even in the mornings.

Pool Time!!!

It is only the beginning of June and we have already been out in the pool too many times to count. We have a little kiddie pool for Grace in the back yard that she loves to splash around in. This year we put her little kiddie slide into the pool so she can now slide down into the water. The first time she did it she was not too sure of it but she has quickly become a pro at it.

Presley got to join in the fun one hot morning. With Presley being in the pool I did not fill it as full as Grace probably would have liked but this way Presley could crawl around and enjoy the water too! Plus Grace was just happy to be able to go in the pool and to be able to play with the water.

We have also be fortunate enough to have wonderful neighbors that invite us over to come swim in the big pool. Of course Grace has no fear of it and just gets frustrated cause she can't move around as well as the "Big" kids.

Yummy Corn

About a month and a half ago we introduced Grace to corn on the cob. She loves corn and knew she would like it but we were not real sure if she would be able to eat it right off the cob. I can remember when I was little my parents and aunts always cutting the corn off the cob for myself and cousins. I knew I could cut it off for Grace but just figured it would be faster and much easier if she would just eat it straight off the cob. Which she was able to do with no problems.

You may notice that in the first couple pictures she has a very small piece of corn. Now we just give her half of the cob but she quickly eats that and asks us for the other half. Mark says this is no surprise since she is half Nebraskan! In his mind everyone from Nebraska loves corn, especially corn on the cob! Not sure how true that is but I do know I could eat it a couple times a week, easily!!
