Christmas Program

This year the girls were able to participate in their first ever Christmas program!  They were so excited!!
This is a picture of Grace, can you find her? She is in the back row to the left of the boy holding his arms up like he is taking a picture.
I moved to a different area of the room to try & get a better picture...it didn't really work.  She is the third from the right in the back row.  She is in the older class so they stand in the back & she wanted to stand next to her friend.  Would have been nice if they could have switched her & the boy on the end.  Oh well.

Eva of course was right up front since she is in the youngest class!
Her teachers told me she sang the songs all the way from & to her classroom!  She loves music & Loves to sing!!
And this was the best picture I got of Grace!!

Christmas Decorations

The day after Thanksgiving or the weekend after really I love to put the tree up along with all of our other decorations for Christmas!  If it doesn't get done normally I don't worry too much about it but this year I really wanted to finish it in a weekend.  Not knowing when the baby was arriving I wanted to be as prepared as I could be for Christmas!!

I was really wanting to do something different with our fireplace mantel this year.  My big dilemma was trying to figure out what to do with our stockings.  Mark came up with this wonderful idea!  I love the way it looks!!
And then there was the area above or between the living room and dinning room that I felt needed a Christmas make over.  Mark helped me accomplish this look.  I figure after this project he must really love me cause decorating is really not his thing however, he would not let me on a ladder so he graciously did this for me cause he knew how much I would love it!
I love how the fireplace mantel turned out too!!  I just LOVE my new sign!!!

Snoqualmie Falls

At the beginning of November we decided to take the girls to see the falls...Snoqualmie Falls!  It might not have been the warmest day for it but it wasn't raining and well it was my birthday so we did this and then went out to eat!  It was a wonderful time! :)

Zoo

Since moving to Washington the girls have been wanting to go visit the zoo.  They were very worried that Seattle didn't even have a zoo!  They were thrilled to find out that they do and were very excited to see that they have penguins at this zoo but wished they also had sea lions!  Thankfully the Houston zoo & the Seattle zoo both participate in a share program of some sort.  Basically if you have a membership to one zoo you can get discounted tickets at other zoos or even get in free, depending on the membership and zoo.  As it turns out if you have a Houston membership you can get into the Seattle zoo for free!!  A nice surprise for me when I was expecting to pay!
I'm not sure which zoo is larger but the above picture is pretty much how the Seattle zoo looks as you are walking through.  Then all of a sudden there will be a clearing and an animal exhibit!  It was such a change from what we are use to!
Another thing that was different is that very few animals were in "cages" so to speak.  I mean they were in cages but not the glass cages like we are use to.  In the picture below you can get a better idea of what I am talking about.  It reminded me more of how the zoo was on the movie "We Bought a Zoo."

Don't get me wrong I thought it was pretty cool and often wondered why or how the animals did not get out.  However, when we saw this guy it made me a little more nervous! Hehe  There are 2 bears at the zoo about this size!!  We didn't take too many pictures, cause really how many pictures does one need of a zoo, but we all had a great time making it to the zoo....finally!!
