Day to Day of April

We celebrated Tante Liz's birthday with her

Grace got a new bigger bike and it didn't take her long to get going!

No child was injured during the making of this video.  Well maybe that is not completely true, one child walked away with a scratch on her upper lip.  We are VERY thankful for helmets!!

We went to the park for the morning and came home with a couple of boo-boos!

Bath Time

Josefine was not a fan of her first couple of baths.  She definitely did not like the sponge bath!

Once she got a real bath she still was not a huge fan however, that has all changed and she now LOVES bath time!! :)

Easter

Easter this year was a little different than our Easters in the past.  This year as we were getting ready to go to the egg hunt on Saturday Josefine decided to make her arrival.  So the kids headed off to the hunt with Tante Liz and Uncle Nick while Mark and I headed for the hospital.  And since Josefine was born Mark and I spent Easter in the hospital while the kids spent Easter going to church and having an egg hunt at home with Liz and Nick.

After we came home from the hospital Easter continued, we had our Easter dinner and gave the kids their Easter baskets! :)

1 Month!!

Can you believe over a month has passed since our sweet little girl entered the world?!?!

The first month has been a great one. So far in life she seems to be a very laid back little girl and her sisters and brother adore her!!  She had jaundice in the beginning but was pretty much over that by the time she was a week old or at least by the time we went to her 10 day appointment!
10 day stats:
Weight: 6lbs 15oz - 25%
Height: 20" - 50%
Head: 13 1/4" - 10-25%

Our biggest challenge this month has been eating. It seems to have taken her a little longer to get the hang of it than it did the others but she is good to go now and gaining weight like a champ!

 1 Month stats:
Weight: 8lbs 5oz - 25%
Height: 21 1/4" - 50%
Head: 14" - 10-25%

Cha...Cha...Cha...Chaaannges

It seems that after just a short 2 1/2 years on the west coast, the Husby family is going on a new adventure!  Come this summer we will be packing up our belongings again and saying our goodbyes and headed to a new place.....sort of.  In just a short two months we will be headed to......

In other words, we are headed home!!  When we left over 7 years ago, Mark and I never figured we would be back to Jersey to live but it seems, like always, God had other things planned for us.  Even though we are moving back to Jersey it will be starting over again in a way.  When we lived there 7 years ago we lived in North Jersey, this time when we move back we will be in Central Jersey.  So it will be starting over in a way but this time we will have family and friends already in the state and just a short hour or so away.  An hour may seem really far but compared to a 6 hour plane ride an hour car ride is awesome! :)  Having family around will be different for us as we have never lived near family since having children.  We are excited for the kids to be able to enjoy more time with their Grandma and PopPop, along with their Tantes and Uncles, as well as to be able to see them enjoy the kids on a more regular basis.

Moving to a new place brings forth so many emotions.  The excitement of the move mixed in with the sadness to leave all that has become familiar to us but mainly the sadness of leaving the friends we have made here.....the friends who have become family to us.  The next couple months will be a whirlwind as we prepare for the move and sprinkle in as many get togethers with our friends as possible and then the actual moving.  We will be sad to leave behind those we have become close with, those who have become our family out here but we look forward to the new adventure that is before us.

It's a......

......GIRL!!!!
Josefine Joy was born over Easter weekend and we couldn't be happier or more excited to have this sweet little girl in our family!  She was 7lbs 1oz and 19"......just a tiny little thing.

Before she made a grand entrance into the world Mark and I took a guess at what we thought the birth weight was going to be and the sex.  We both said girl but Mark had the better guess at the weight than I did.  He guessed 7lbs 2 oz and I guessed 8lbs 3oz!  Boy was I way off!!  She just felt so much bigger than the other kids but I guess maybe she was just very active and doing flips or laps while she was on the inside. Hehe :)

Daddy and his girls!

A first for us....she has so much hair and dark hair at that!!  Generally our kids have the blondest hair and really no hair upon birth.

Meeting her big sisters and brother.....

Thankfully Mark's sister, Liz, and her fiance, Nick, were here with us over Easter!  It was such a relief to know that the kids were taken care of and we didn't need to rush around trying to get them to some place and then getting them to the hospital to see us.  Although I'm pretty sure the three of them gave them a run for their money and didn't go easy on them.  They all said they had a great time but I have a slight feeling that everyone was happy when we came home from the hospital. Hehe ;)

Home!!!

So far it seems like everyone adores Josefine!  We really have not had too many issues with any of the older kids and adjusting.  Sure there have been a couple of moments were we were a little out of sorts but they have been great with their baby sister.  Our biggest issue is everyone wanting to hold her all the time!!  I will gladly take that issue! :)

As with the other kids we had a shirt made for her to wear home from the hospital.  Her shirt says....
den siste Husby
Or in English.......the final Husby!! :)
