As of late Grace has become a big helper. Below are a couple short videos of her helping out after getting home from food shopping. I just hope you helpfulness continues through out life. :)

Day in the Yard
It has been really great weather as of late down here. The temps have been in the mid to upper 70s so we have been taking full advantage of them, especially since the misquitoes have not been too bad either. Below are just 2 random photos from a day out in the yard, along with a video.

This picture reminds me of my childhood. I can remember running through all the clothes on the clothes line many of times in my youth. :)

Craft time
Couple weekends ago, we did a little art project. Last year for my birthday our wonderful neighbor gave me a kit to make a hand print in cement, meant for me to do with Grace. At the time she was only a couple months old and I figured we would wait a bit before we did it. I set it aside so it would not get lost or damaged. Problem with this is I forgot about it, out of sight out of mind. Guess that is a true statement for me.
In any case we located it and decided to try it out. Below are some pictures but it is not finished yet. It still needs to dry so technically it is finished as the over all project will not change, it just needs to dry. Which according to the paper it needs to dry for 3 days inside the mold and then set for another 2 weeks once it is out of the mold.

Boy Am I Old....
That is right, I'm old!! At least if you were to ask a bunch of 1st graders I'm sure they will tell you that. This past week I had a birthday and have come to the top of the hill, a small one but the top regardless. I turned 30!! Yup, I'm not afraid of saying it nor did I have any issues turning the BIG 3-0. I embraced the day. It was one of the best days I had last week. Now this could be because it was my birthday or it could have something to do with the fact that I felt good. I had been sick the 4 days prior and on my birthday I woke up a new person. It was as though I had never even been ill the days prior.
We, as a family, didn't do anything huge the night of. All I wanted was a sub from Lenny's sub shop and to watch the World Series, even though I was not a fan of either of the teams. So that is exactly what we did. Once Mark got home I went out to the pharmacy and to Lenny's. I came home we ate and watched baseball. It was wonderful!!
However, on Saturday we did have some close friends over for a small celebration. I just did not want a big to do about it even though I did embrace it arms wide open. Below are a couple of pictures that I snapped of the night.

Fall Fest
Our final fall gathering for the year was at the YMCA in Pearland. The church we attend meets in their gym every Sunday morning and they invited us to their fall fest. There was to be games, bouncy things, the worship band was to play and they had a petting zoo.
Grace was really too little for most of the games and bouncy items. Technically she could have gone on one of the bouncers but most of the kids jumping were quite big compared to her. She did enjoy the band playing and was dancing during this. Her favorite part of the night was the petting zoo. The zoo was at the front where you entered and she went crazy when she saw all of the animals. We did snap some pictures but it was really too dark to get any video.

Hanging out with all the goats.

Second time back into the pen with all the animals. I'm telling you it was her favorite thing to do. When we left she actually cried because we took her out of there.

Trying to pet the pigs. She had the right idea to corner them but they were still too fast.

Feeding the goats...

....and the llama.
Over all she was a very brave girl. She went up to every animal to either feed them or pet them. She even got bit by a duck but that didn't slow her down, nor did she cry. She just tried to pet them even more.

Pumpkin Carving
Since we waited until the day of to carve our pumpkin I did not get to participate in this either. It looks like the two of them had a great time together. Mark said that Grace helped take the insides out of the pumpkin but what she really liked was eating the pumpkin!! She tasted it all. Everything he would put on the table or into the bowl she would pick it up and take a bite of it. Yuck!! However, Gracie didn't find it so yucky.

The finished project and the yummy pumpkin seeds!!

Halloween
Grace had a great time going trick-or-treating. Her and Mark went out with our neighbors while I stayed behind. This was not really my choice or what I wanted to do but something I had to do. (I was home sick.) Mark said Grace got the hang of it pretty fast. However, she had difficulties in one area. She wanted to go into all the houses she went to. She didn't quite understand that she was to remain outside. This is something that we will have to work on for next year.

Trick-or-Treating Group
Catching a ride, all that walking is hard work.
"Can I come in please?"
"Look at all my candy. Can I please eat some tonight?"
One more post below.
Pumpking Patch #2
About a week before Halloween the Moms Club had a party at a local pumpkin patch. Grace loved it!! She kept going up to all the pumpkins and calling them balls.

They had a cute area to take pictures. After several attempts I did get one of Grace however, when it came to taking a picture with Momma, not so much.

"What are these things, Momma?"

"I'm a pumpkin. Do you want to take me home?"
Craft time....the craft for the day was to decorate a little brown bag to collect your ghost in. I was not sure how Grace would do but she was all about it. She was having a blast coloring the bag and loved it even more when I put stickers on. They were pictures of cats and she pretty much likes any all things to do with animals.

After craft time we played a game or a hunt. The kids were to go around the pumpkin patch and hunt for ghost. Upon finding them they were to put them into their brown bags. Grace was scared of the ghost. I'm not joking about this either. She would not touch them. I even showed her it was a lolly-pop wrapped in a tissue. She was all cool with it as long as the tissue was off. Once you put the tissue on she would not touch it.

"There it is Momma but I'm not touching it."

"He looks cute yet scary all at the same time."

"Are you sure they won't come out of this bag?"

After our hunt we ate some cookies and got to play on the playground. Grace had so much fun I could not get her to leave. However, once we left we did take home a "ball" or pumpkin to carve.
