Birthday....

Yesterday was Mark's birthday so we celebrated with the neighbors that afternoon. Unfortunately our one neighbor got sick right before the party so it ended up being a smaller party than we had planned. I believe Mark had a good day even though family could not be with us.

A frame from Grace to put on his desk at work.
(The pictures have yet to arrive in the mail.)

Just as an FYI for you regular followers, Gracie and I will be going back to Nebraska tomorrow for 10 days. So it may be a little bit before another update appears.

Landscape

For the last few weekends we have been working on our landscaping. So far what we have basically done is cleaned up the areas and transplanted most of the plants from the front to the back. We also have planted a new tree in the back yard, (our town was giving them away for free). For the front landscaping we will be buying some new plants of some sort to replace everything we have taken out. As of right now, we know we will be putting roses in along with something else that has some color. Anyways, for now here are some pictures for you....

4 months....

Can you believe it 4 months? Well actually she is 4 1/2 months but we just went to the doctor today for her appointment. The doctor was very happy with Grace. She said she is developing wonderfully. Her heart, eyes, ears and everything else were great. Plus she said she was developing at a good rate if not slightly ahead on all her motor skills and such. Grace can now sit while supporting herself with her hands, roll over both ways, grabs for everything, no lag in her head when pulled to a sitting position and is starting to crawl like a worm...very slow and not very far. Her weight today was 13lbs. 10 1/2 oz (40 percentile), height 23 1/2" (10 percentile), and as for her head she was in the 30 percentile but I don't remember the exact measurement and they never write that one down for me.

Our doctor told us that Grace could now have cereal 3 times a day and each serving could be 3-4 Tbsp. Then she can start her veggies when she is 5 months old and her fruit when she is 6 months. Oh and she gets her veggies 2 times a day. I found it strange that they would start her on veggies first over fruit but hey things change all the time and honestly I love our doctor so I will just do whatever she tells me. :) hehe

Of course there was the not so fun part of our visit which was the dreaded shots. She got 1 oral vaccine and 3 shots, some how it was worse this time. I'm not sure if it was because she was older and more aware or if it had anything to do with her being tired. For me it was worse cause, well she was screaming and crying and my support was not there. (Mark was at work) So it took us a moment or two before we left the room, basically until both Mommy and Grace stopped crying. Thankfully I remembered to bring the elephant that she is so fond of lately and that seemed to help her calm down. :-/

FINALLY!!!!

She has done it!!!

Of course the first time she did it I was not looking. I was going into the kitchen to get something and when I looked back she was on her stomach. So I did the only natural thing that I'm sure every parent would have done; I put her on her back again, grabbed the camera and waited for her to do it again. :) The results are in the clip below.

The 2nd clip is just to show you that even tonight she is still rolling over. Not that anyone would doubt this but I'm also sure no one is complaining I've posted 2 videos. Heh :)

Getting closer.....

As you will see in the video, Grace is getting so close to rolling over. Mark and I were on edge last night so sure she was going to get it but no dice. Gracie was also getting just a little frustrated with not being able to get it. If only that hand would have moved...

Super Bowl XLIII

Grace got to watch her first Super Bowl tonight and what a game it turned out to be. Plus it is always a plus to watch the game when you are a fan for one of the teams. Thankfully, at least in this household, the Steelers won!!! Yeah, number 6 baby!! For those of you who do not watch or did not watch the game the final score was 27-23.

Thanks Boomhowers for my shirt!! I love it!

Let's Go Steelers, Let's Go Steelers...
