3rd Trimester

28 Weeks

Well I have made it into the final stretch, the 3rd trimester and only 11 more weeks to go, I'm now 29 weeks. Part of me thinks, "Wow, only 11 more weeks, it has gone by so fast!" and the other part of me thinks, "11 more weeks, I can't believe I still have 11 weeks to go!" I guess that most people probably go through those same feelings at some point or another. I feel like I still have so much I want to get done in these last 11 weeks but I realize what I get done great and what doesn't well it was never meant to get done. :) I guess this would be the part of me that thinks this pregnancy is going by so fast. I can tell you the part that thinks it is going so slow would be the physical aspect of the pregnancy. I feel so huge and the baby is starting to make breathing & eating more difficult. I have had heartburn this time around and am so thankful I never had it the first time.

There is really nothing new to report since last month. I went to the doctors last week and we chatted more about my options for labor and delivery. I still have not made a decision but am leaning more towards one way than the other. I have a few more questions for my doctor and honestly I'm just praying about it right now. I have finished the book I was reading but am still mulling things over. I do recommend the book to any of you who may be pregnant or will be pregnant at some point or another. I did learn a few things in there that they did not teach me in my child birth classes the last time around.

Other than all of that the only other thing that went on at the doctors was my glucose testing. I have not heard anything on the results which I'm going to assume is a good thing. I go back to the doctor the first week of August and then start going every 2 weeks. For now that is all I have for you.

Parade

This year our town held their parade on Monday, the 5th, instead of on the 4th. Usually the parade is in the morning so I guess the town figured since the 4th was on a Sunday most people would be at church that morning instead of attending the parade. It was of course hot but always fun to watch.
Waiting for the parade to begin.

Finally it has started and Gracie had the best seat!

At the beginning of the parade there is always the political people who are in office or running for something, be it local or county wise. As we were watching them all go by and reading their signs I read one and thought nothing of it until I recognized the person walking behind the truck. If you look closely the woman pushing the stroller is my doctor! It took me a moment to figure out why she was in the parade and up with the political people but then I remembered, her dad is Ron Paul! So strange to see your doctor outside of the office. I mean I know they have a life outside the office but you never expect to see them.
One float, car, had a break down. :(
Say cheese!
Our neighbor, Taite road her bike in the parade again this year!

Gracie loved all the flags and kept saying, "Flags, Flags, more."

"Is this parade done yet, I'm hot and tired."
Paige and Gracie cooling down with a fan mister.

One last time up on Daddy's shoulders to get a good view of the best part....

4th of July

This year for the 4th of July we stayed in Texas and my parents came down for the weekend. Grace was very excited to spend a couple of days with Papa & Grammy. My parents arrived on Friday during the rain storm but thankfully they were able to get here before the roads got real bad. On Saturday my cousin, Stephanie, & her husband, Brett, came down for lunch & to spend the afternoon with us. It was great to see them again & I know my parents really enjoyed being able to see Stephanie & to finally meet Brett.
Sunday we went over to our neighbors 4th of July party. There was swimming, jumping, a few fireworks, great food (tons of it), & of course wonderful people.

That night everyone that was at the party went down to the end of the block, 2 houses down, to watch the fireworks the town had. Every year our town has fireworks and it is always in the same park and in the same general location, which is great because we can go to the end of the street and watch them from our neighbors yard. We don't get to see the fireworks on the ground but we also don't have to wait in a long line to leave the park in order to get home. This was a huge advantage this year because for some reason the fireworks were an hour later than they were scheduled. They were suppose to go off around 9:20 and didn't start until 10:15 or so.

Waiting for the fireworks and trying to get a picture with my little girl. This was the best we got after several attempts.

Watching all the "big" kids light sparklers.

Finally the fireworks began and Gracie had the best seat....Daddy's shoulders.

But soon wanted Papa to hold her....

and then Momma!

She loved the fireworks and would say boom every time one went off!!

And it begins...

The rain and hurricane season that is. For those of you who do not follow the weather, other than in your current area, the first hurricane of the season came through right before the weekend of the 4th. The hurricane, thankfully, did not hit here in Houston but we did get the effects of it. Which is rain and lots of it. If we have a significant amount of rain the side walk coming to our front door becomes flooded and Gracie loves it!!
