It seems every fall almost all of the Preschools and lower grade elementary kids always go on a field trip to a farm in October and they end the field trip by bringing home a pumpkin. October seems to be the month to learn all about farming and the life cycle of plants. Grace loved it last year and again this year as did Eva!
Eva's trip....
There was a very friendly dog at the farm we went to. Eva and a couple of her friends loved the fact that they got to pet him.
In search of the great pumpkin, we needed to stop and take a picture with this scarecrow.
We also saw this huge worm that we needed to take a picture of to show Gracie!
And this pumpkin needed to be photographed since it went to her waist! :)
Grace's trip....
I was very fortunate to get to go on the field trip with Grace as they only have maybe 6 parent volunteers go with the entire class. She started her trip off with a hay ride to the pumpkin patch!
This patch had a lot of green and white pumpkins but it didn't take her nearly as long to find the perfect one!
Class photo shoot....and yes every picture I have of the class Grace has her tongue sticking out! :)
Then they sat down with a farm hand and learned about all the different types of vegetables this farm grows.
Which was followed up by a haymaze and some time with a farm hand learning about all the animals that they have on the farm which were pigs, ducks and cows!
