So Much Fun

Mark's parents were here this past week and we had so much fun. It was the first time Bruce has seen Grace in person since she was 2 months old and boy did they have fun. Gracie really liked having Grandpa and Grandma here every day and she was more than pleased to entertain us most of the week.

It is always such a blessing to have Mom and Bruce down. They helped us out so much around the house. While they were here Bruce helped Mark do some plumbing work, fixed a couple of faucets, and Mom not only helped out with some yard work but she also made us some bread. My favorite of the bread she made would have to be the Cinnamon Swirl. For 2 reasons, 1. it was really good and 2. it reminded me of my childhood. The recipe she used was my Grandma's but let me tell you it wasn't as easy as it sounds. I had the recipe but like so many of my Grandma's it says the ingredients but doesn't always say how much or it says stuff like "a pinch" or "add until it looks right" or "until it feels right" and even better "just a touch". So I did the only thing I could think of and that was to call my cousin Kristy. :) Who ended up calling her mom, who then called her cousin to get the "original recipe" because my Grandma got it from her sister-in-law. But in any case it was all worth it, I only wish we could have shared it with my cousin and aunt. (Thank you tons for all the trouble.)

Pool Time

Other than all of that we basically just hung out, played some games, played with Grace and tried to get her to walk. We were very successful on that. When Mom and Bruce first arrived at most she would take 9 steps but by the time they left she was walking all over the place. Now she is perfecting that and is getting much faster.



Birthday Gift

Mom and Bruce brought an early birthday gift down for Grace from Aunt Eleanor. At first she was not too sure of it. She wanted to touch it yet she didn't. However, she seemed to like it as long as it stayed away from her but if it got close then she was a bit scared of it.


After a little while though she started to warm up to it and got pretty brave. She was actually holding the dog and making him laugh. :)
